I went totally the other way on this. I got an old, low-mileage Jetta TDI Wagon. I wanted something I could beat on and not worry about it, and that I wouldn't care if my kids ran into it with their...

Yah I know. But I can afford to store them for the summer if they don't sell. I'm not hurting for the money and it didn't cost me anything to post them.

I cruised Kijiji for over a year looking...

I have them as well. Fantastic. I ditched the OEM splash guards before they had a chance to do too much damage to the paint!

Great post! Read it top to bottom.

Didn't notice any repairs other than the fuel filter and wastegate (clutch doesn't count - it did well for you). Have you not needed any other work done over...

Datalog refinement worth it for stock vehicle?

Want to pull the trigger on a Cobb AP + Stratified tune. Wondering if it's worth the extra $50 (CAD$61!) for the datalog refinement on a stock vehicle. Also since I have the 6MT and therefore have a...

Can't go wrong with X-Ice 3's or the Nokians. Only problem with Nokian is availability; if you need to replace one mid- or late- season it can be difficult to find a replacement quickly. Michelin's...

Flush kit wheel spacers and highway driving. Bad idea?

My '13 GTI is 100% factory now but I would love to add a flush kit (10mm front, 15mm rear) to tweak the look just a little bit - otherwise I love it as-is. The thing is I do about 20K miles per year,...

How does the 2.0T "like" to be driven?

My old ALH TDI (and all TDIs of the mk4 era) thrived on being driven "hard". By which I mean mostly shifting at higher RPMs and generally not being afraid to give it some welly on a regular basis....

Your experience sounds a lot like mine. I had a 2002 WRX Wagon for several years that I adored and that gave me very few problems up to 100K miles. It just felt reliable and well constructed. On the...

Anybody regret buying a GTI for a daily driver?

I love my GTI but it seems to be nickel-and-diming me to death. Fortunately the only major issue (new injectors, coils, intake cleaning) was warrantied, but it seems like I have one minor issue after...
