The first three that died (two different occurrences) were possibly due to a faulty fuel pump control module (under the rear seat)....

I wouldn't trust a dealership with a tricycle lol, but I agree with you, my last vw. Way too unreliable and vw refuses to acknowledge their defects. I'm thinking the new 250 lexus or the ct hatchback.

Are you sure it was the tensioner again? It's unlikely to fail again. Could've been another failure in the timing, like a sprocket, chain slack, rail crack or even oil pump skipped

My 30 min quote was assuming the engine will be retimed regardless....
