VF Engineering Air Intake

I've got it, won it in a raffle and has since replaced my AWE intake.

Both great intakes, same diameter tubing, same maf placement so that is all pluses and will work great with the GIAC software:)

The AWE is quieter because it's enclosed, however the VF intake is much easier to clean and service becuase it's open... I happen to like that it's louder because you hear more
Turbo spooling and air releasing from the dv valve... Easy to install and very clean looking... Much better fit and finish than the BSH intake as far as open air
Is concerned... I'd say same fit and finish as an APR intake:)

Yup... They originally used the VF intake to develope the software, but they switched to the AWE intake to develope the Ko4 software... Still the intakes have the same diameter and same maf position and that's all that really matters:)

The only intake I was having issues with is the APR intake...

Btw I'm considering installing my AWE intake into my wife's CC which has GIAC software vs selling the intake...

Can't go wrong with VF or AWE:)

I still don't get how different intakes are made for different ECU mapping. Can someone explain?? Shouldn't an intake be an intake??

Very common question... Someone should sticky this link

All explained by this article by Cobb tuning...

Good post and very true...I make Big MAF tubes for the 1.8T and we manipulate the fuel with a 4 bar or adjustable FPR to make them work (obviously not possible on a 2.0 due to direct injection) info: http://www.modshack.info/bamm.htm

I just developed a new airbox (adaptation of the VTDA) for the 2.0. Looks like it's adaptable to the CC, A3 etc. with minor length adjustments..

I think the Modshack is one of the cleanest, best looking intakes on the market.
