i was attempting to install my new coils when i realized i didnt have a pry bar and big enough hammer to remove the strut. no big deal so i started putting the suspension back together and i snapped the threaded stud on the lower control arm. oh joy.

well i did use a breaker bar to snug up that nut instead of a torque wrench. #placwouldnotapprove :(

Honestly bro, those 3 nuts don't require a lot of torque. If you can get a good 1/2" torque wrench on sale, do so and use it next time.

Breaker bars in general should NOT be used to tighten bolts/nuts just as a torque wrench should NOT be used to loosen bolts/nuts.

Hope the install at the dealer goes smooth and you can enjoy your ride.

That sucks. Couldn't you drill it out at replace with a bolt? Or even a new stud?

Did this on wheel studs.... Not fun.
