3"-2.5" DP to 3" catback question

So I have a 3" Beluga Catless Downpipe that tapers to a 2.5 midpipe, found a good deal on an spm track catback but that entire exhaust is 3"...my question is what danger or good (?) will i be doing if i connect the 2.5 midpipe into a 3" catback, or should i just stick to the midpipes diameter and continue with a 2.5" catback?

None, it will make no difference in performance at all...just sound.

Isn't the taper at the back of the downpipe? Local muffler shop should be able to trim it and connect 3" all the way.

not on the beluga downpipe it starts closer to where the cat would be located.

take a notice at the mid pipe (where the cat would be located) and you can see it tapers there.
