Ideal setup ( HELP )

I am not such a car person myself but I do enjoy my driving. But due to living in the suburb/city... the roads can be some shit. (potholes)

Essentially what I want in my car (2013 GTi 4 door w/ 18in wheels running 225 40 r 18... Dunlop sp sport in front and Hankook ventus in the back) are the following.

1) fun drivability... meaning I want the car to be fun to drive as I go out for drives on winding mountain roads.

2) Car that is tough enough to withstand the potholes, wet roads, etc. But do not want to sacrifice too much performance.

3) The BIGGEST factor for me is handling.

** I am reffering to changes or tunes regarding the suspension, tires, and wheels.

*** Note, I will also do ECU upgrades, intake, downpipe in the near future. (1-2 years)

idk, get some 17'' wheels so you can get bigger sidewall for bumps. Also I think 17'' tires can be found for cheaper.
