Hey guys,
I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to the technicalities of a car so I apologize beforehand if I sound really dumb in this post.
Anyhow, my backup camera was fine until winter this year. The camera would randomly stop working but work fine the next day. I thought it was due the cold so I kept ignoring it but a month ago it completely gave up. Now all I get is a blue screen when putting the gear in reverse. I googled around and found somebody had a similar issue but they were able to fix it by soldering cables/connectors in the camera. So I wanted to do the same, I opened it up, dissected the parts and all the cables were intact, in mint condition.
Technicalities:
Car: Golf TSI 1.4 2011 122hp (2010 production).
Camera: Emblem camera (fitted in the trunk hatch) connected to a RCD 510 radio (at least I think it's an RCD 510).
I got the car scanned for errors and it threw this code:
02873 (Something pertaining to control module, I have no clue what it is.)
Has anyone had a similar issue?
