The TSB everyone for some reason keeps talking about basically lists a bunch of complaints that are normal. It says there's no product update.

VW replaced Mechatronics on February 8th (15 days)
VW replaced Clutch packs on March 25th (5 days)
VW replaced the complete transmission on April 4th (3 days)

That was the exact same sequence of repair events with my 2008 Mkv GTI with DSG. Thankfully, they extended the recall for 10 years, 100k miles as my car had 70k miles when I finally got the new tranny.

At least my dealer was good enough to let me keep the car until they had each respective part in stock.

My car was out for about 2 days for the first two items, and I think 3 days for the last. I told them I'd lemon it if they couldn't fix it.

With the new tranny, car drives great, and I don't have to change the DSG fluid until 110k miles!

That sucks OP, bad. They had mine for over a week fixing the wind noise issue and replacing channels and seals, but thats been it so far since I've had it. I can only imagine how over it you must feel.

I don't know enough about the Lemon Law to suggest one way or the other but it seems unacceptable to me that any new car could come from the factory with such problems. Where is the quality control? The worst part about it is that they stick you in some terrible rental car while they have your baby, like a Chevy Malibu that smells like cigarettes and vomit, instead of at least giving you a VW loaner. How hard would it be for VW to fork over a Jetta or something while they take 2 weeks to fix your car each time? At least BMW gives you another Bimmer when they have your car. Brutal

my mkv was in the shop for 28 business days for the DSG issue. They tried replacing the mechatronics unit, then the dual mass flywheel, then they finally replaced the clutch packs after having a field service guy come in and looked at it.

I was stuck with a burnt orange kia rio as a rental during all this.

well it stands to reason that such a complex and relatively new technology like DSG, that performs so well would be more apt to problems that require long term repair intervals. not trolling the DSG vibe, but it's not totally surprising

To all your DSG fanbois that like it

up the derriere by VWoA.

Threaten to lemon it. Get ready for push back. Write a few letters. Hire attorney. Step away from keyboard. Walk away with check.

VW bought back my GTI, after all the breaks, issues that I have encountered.

I have the following site: www.lemonmydsg.com , you can have it for $20.

Mine had complete brake failure and mechatronix unit failure at 10k miles.

It stranded me 7 hours from home and had to extend my vacation time. This is after it had been to the dealership maybe 6 times for brake vibrations, brake boost loss, and stalling/bucking issues.

They refused to compensate me for anything until I went basic training on the poor ladies ass and they tossed a monthly payment in for me, which I had to set up myself. I had to take VW's account number, call VWcredit, and explain my situation to them, then have VW pay VW... (Makes sense right?)...

You can always contact Krohn And Moss lemon law specialists. They give free consultations and were able to help me out. Its amazing how proactive volkswagen gets the moment a lawyer contacts them with court documents...
