Hey everyone. Does anyone have data on exactly how much torque the stock DSG can take? I have a 2014 GTI with the APR Stage 1 tune which is like 100 lbs-ft above stock.
I don't take my car to the track and get on it only occasionally, but I'm wondering what you've seen in terms of the ability of this trans to handle that torque increase.
I've read about APR's DSG upgrade and how it's supposed to increase clamping force to provide better acceleration and durability through less clutch slippage, but that's APR talking. Someone on this board mentioned they hadn't seen an increase in clamping force with the APR DSG tune.
If the APR Stage 1 tune is too much for the stock DSG, what have you done to beef it up?
Thanks in advance!
