When I first stopped in the dealership to look for a GTI, I had a similar experience to Mk6golfer. They looked all over the region and couldn't find one that matched what I was looking for. As luck would have it, the VW factory rep was meeting with the owner while I was there, and told them to check for '11's. not '10's (not sure why they would know that already, but that's beside the point).
Long story short, I picked up my GTI today, and am very pleased. I've owned two Jetta TDI's in the past, and have never been disappointed. I am hoping the GTI will continue to impress (albeit with slightly less fuel economy). Just wish they'd bring the R20 over here.

yes, dynaudio is pretty rare on manual trans cars around here. cuz people that go for the base cars arent looking for all kinds of fancy options.
