Those with 2011+ GTIs may not want to read any further as you have the smaller 272 mm rotors in the rear.
So I've come across a 'deal' to get a full set of rear rotors and pads, that will be enough to get me past this coming winter until I do the BBK upgrade next summer.
$60 for rear rotors/pads for a 2008 MK5 GTI :thumbup:
Thing is, my research shows that the rotors for a 2008 MK5 GTI are as follows:
Outer Diameter = 286.1 mm
Height = 48.5 mm
Nominal Thickness = 11.90 mm
Whereas the 2010 MK6 GTI has the following rear rotors spec:
Outer Diameter = 282.0 mm
Height = 48.2 mm
Nominal Thickness = 12.00 mm
So my question is, would the above variances make THAT much of a difference if I used the 'larger' MK5 rotors? (this is assuming the pads are the same and will fit into my caliper as well).
