There are pro and cons to both approaches. If cost is the driving issue, use port. If interested in drop in replacemets, use other method

In My country E85 is half price of gazoline so lot of guy's running their GTI with E85.
The limit with oem part on ROW GTI is about 280CHP and 430 NM.
On a TT EA888 Gen 1: https://www.facebook.com/nkperformances/posts/2092574190955365

I have 340 AEM LPFP and some AUDI B8.5 Flexfuel injector I will soon get a Stage 2 remap and see what is possible( if my HPFP is not up to the task I will install a VIS HPFP Kit). I'm just waiting my tuner to finalise the implementation of a Continental flexfuel sensor that will give the info through the Can-bus to the MED17.1 and switch MAP of timing, fueling and boost automatically according to the percentage of E85 in tank. He is ready with Bosch MED 9 and say's should be a couple month more for MED17. He say's on MED9 the ethanol sensor info make adjustment to about 200 map's!!!

read this about ability of E85 in GDI engine:

On FRS/BRZ that have4 GDI injector and 4 port injector some tuner test doing map first using only GDI injector's then Only port injection both with E85 and the difference was 20HP more on GDI. So about 12% more power.

Folks,

I doing crazy/regulated assays here in BZ, our gasoline already have 25% of alcohol due govern regulation (anhydrous ethanol), but I am doing a mix with more 25% of non anhydrous ethanol what give me a percentage of 40% ethanol total. Works perfectly, I am already run more than 3 thousand miles with no issues, I fell more power but is not measured. In the first new mode I did a lot of watches Wideband, low and high pumps, maf and other parameters, they are all fine, the ECU MED17.5.2 is able to work and adjust this mix. But I am not so brave to go beyond this so far.

I know this is off topic but what is the max e85 + 93 blend you can run on the stock fuel system with a k04 turbo? Is it E30?

Around e40ish you will not be able to flow enough fuel I believe you will start to run too lean.
Maybe you can get away with more, but you will lose power because you dont have enough fuel.

That is correct. On stock fueling E50 is about the max you'd want to go. I was a test dummy a few months back :) E50 ftw

That is with stock tune ( or tuen not made for E85) because MED 17 limit LTFT adaptation at -/+25% and STFT at -/+ 15%.
if your tuner widen the range of those and control the boost at High RPM to not pass what the fuel system can deliver, then 280 CrankHP and around 430NM is possible on ROW GTI 6.

This what the guy who is going to do my car can do on MED9 EA113.
- Map of E85 mix each increment of 2.5%
- adjustable launch control in rpm and Boost
- Different cackle map
- Haldex tune with race, Quarter mile, snow map's

And so on
all adjustable with cruise control lever.
Here Video of it. Sorry it's in French. but you can see the feature's

PS: He think he will be ready with MED17 in a few month. Med9 and MED17 are working on same logic for him.
