Simple Question. Some simple answers pls

i just brought my dad a Golf Mk6 1.6 TDI DSG7 2009/2010 SE (uk Spec)

Questions

1) how someone please tell me , how do i enable the LARGE MPH speed number in the middle of the screen ?

2) i dont know how, but i cant seem to get into the menu in the display screen, is there many different variants etc. how do i access the menu to make simple setting changes ?

note, don't have steering wheel controls

I have VCDS 12.12.3 but what is a rod file and where can i get one from ?

On my NA spec gti, i simply use the right side steering wheel controls. It give me access to all the center display info. It may be a bit diff in the UK, so consulting the owner manual may b the best bet

without steering wheel controls you use the buttons on the end of the wiper stalk and there is also a button under the stalk. hold the lower button on the end to get into the menu and use the end buttons to navigate and the button underneath to confirm/enter menus.

if those buttons are not present i would almost think it does not have a mfa type display. im not sure it that was an option on mk6 golfs in row spec.
