RNS 315 Version Update Details

Hello.

I have V3 Firmware on my RNS 315. Other than actual maps and the removal of the Mexico map, what kind of updates happened up to the latest version (V9 or V10) does the latest firmware have?

"V3" is just the map version. AFAIK, map updates do just that- update the maps, and don't change the firmware or anything else about the unit.


Your firmware version will be something like "0319", and can be found by accessing the hidden menu. Press and hold the Setup button for about 7-10 seconds.


Unlike some of the other units like the RNS 510, I don't think VW gave much update support to the 315. I searched online recently and all I could find was a handful of YouTube clips of Europeans updating their units with a CD.
