Replace blanks with OEM switches?

///Audience

Ready to race!
Ive spent the better part of the day wiring this up. Sadly, the AudiWorld diagrams do NOT apply to the GTI parking assist switch. However, through tons of trial and error, ive been able to correctly pin the 12v/ground for both red and yellow LED's. This allows the button to illuminate with the other interior LED's and flash yellow when im hit with radar. Where im stuck on is the mute.

According to the diagram on Audiworld, the mute is the yellow wire and simply needs to connect to a single pin. I only have 2 pins left...

As you can see, pins 4 and 5 correspond to the yellow circles. These must be activators for the push button. Ive tried connecting the yellow mute wire to each of these pins individually as well as both together. Ive also tried putting ground to one pin and the yellow to the other and nothing works.

Does anyone know what happens inside the Escort mute switch that causes it to mute? Is it completing a ground or is there current supplied? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I installed my Carstyle4you switch but the switch is backwards, as in the light turns on when off and the light is off when activated (for W/M pump power). When I turn the car on, the switch defaults to off, which is actually on in my case…. Anyone know how to fix this issue? I tried switching the wires in the relay, which is the only apparent fix and no luck with that. Ideas?

Does anyone know where I can get the blank aux cover like this? My mk6 has the aux-in here and I want to move it and put the mute for my radar detector here.
Thanks
Jeff

Audience, do you have a DIY on how you wired up the escort detector? also, is there an actual on of switch somewhere i can buy? im looking for one so i can wire up my remote inline with it for my sub amp, sometimes i shut it off for when its not needed or have passengers in the car that dont like it.

I used this hardwire adapter.

I got the two LED, one for power and one alert. Power isn't needed IMO. I put the alert LED in the bezel around the radio. Looks ok, but at night it is really bright. Eventually I would like to have that LED dim when the headlights are on.

Regarding a switch, I just switch the detector off using the thumb volume/power switch. Mine is mounted above the rear view mirror.

For power, I tapped into the 12V accessory plug since it is switched with the car.

I'll try to snap some photos.
