Gear Number indicator on DSG?

My car 2013 GTI Autobahn DSG... north american model

Has anyone enabled gear number indicator (while in D or S) via coding?

I've seen some reference to enabling it somewhere, but also read elsewhere that the North American Region (NAR?) cars don't allow for this without a DSG tune.

I just got an OBDEleven and this is not (surprisingly) one of the apps.

Anybody know how to long code it? Seems it should be very simple.

I'm not familiar with this coding, but I know it works in M (manual mode). That's all I use honestly.

I don't know if its not possible without a DSG tune but I got mine in two different cars with two different DSG tunes. never tried to use a OBD11 or VAGCOM.

D is a joke, dimwitted and slow. Anything over 35mph, just assume it's 6th gear.

True, unless you have good DSG software. My APR DSG tune eliminated this entirely.

Had a GIAC DSG run and didn’t have the gear numbers in D or S mode. Switched to Integrated Engineering and their tune enables it.
