Any reason for going to the IE intake? The IE is the one I have considered getting.

Any reason for going to the IE intake? The IE is the one I have considered getting.

At first, I wanted to switch to IE because I read about the MAF location not being the stock location and that it could cause fuel trim issues. So I looked into it, contacted Forge, bought a Ross-Tech cable and used VCDS.

Forge stated that they fixed the MAF/fuel trim issue by reducing the height of the MAF bung.

VCDS showed fuel trims at -1.2% 9.4% which is within' the +-10%. I never received any error codes or anything.

By the time I did all that research, I had already read a lot of good things about the IE intake. I like buying new tech things and since I was going to buy a lot of hardware for Black Friday, I just decided to get the intake too.

Attached screenshots of Forge emails and VCDS fuel trim levels. 1st reading was before resetting it, 2nd reading was after resetting it and driving 40 miles, 3rd reading was after driving 80 miles.

EDIT: FYI, I switched 1/26/2017.

Do you still have this? And would you be willing to take the covers off of the filter and take a pic to get an idea of how much cleaning they need?
