Oil capacity...?

Silly question but I can't seem to find it mentioned anywhere in the user manual... so what is the official oil capacity of the 2.0T motor in the MK6? 4.6 quarts? 4.9 quarts?

It's somewhere in that range...4.6-4.9 qts.

Just buy 5 quarts, put in 4.5, and fill it up depending on what your dipstick says :thumbsup:

w0rd. Thanks! My guy sells 5L bottles of Total for less than individual quart bottles :lol: - I guess I will have some left over!

Same here. Add about 4.5 then keep topping it up until it reaches the max on the dipstick.

i always:

Change oil on a warm engine

just put in 4.5.

Start engine for 5 min

Turn off, let sit for 5 min

Check dipstick, add as needed

Then carry an extra quart everywhere i go, checking when I get gas every other fillup and add as needed.

^ same, I usually end up putting the whole 5 qts in by the end of it
