I purchased an RCD-510 (AE) from a member of this forum a while back. When it arrived, it was damaged. The front panel detached from the main chassis. Further investigation revealed that the front panel screw posts were cracked so there is no way for it to be reattached.
There are also some missing screws that hold the cover to the metal chassis and the LCD panel to the front facia. Not my fault that the screws were missing. The forum member sold it to me with missing screws. I guess I was screwed.
Long story short, I am parting out this RCD-510. I tested this unit in my GTI before shelving it. It is working OK. For those of you with RCD-510 radios that need parts, I have the following for sale:
LCD touchscreen display: $15 plus shipping.
Condition: It is very clean. No scratches. Working panel - tested.
As mentioned, the front facia screw posts are cracked.
The only useful part here is the LCD touchscreen panel itself.
Circuit Boards (AE version) with Radio Code: $50 plus shipping.
Condition: Working board. No issues. The entire metal chassis will be shipped with it.
CD Changer: $50 plus shipping.
Condition: Working CD changer. No issues.
My preference is to sell entire unit for $100.
Payment: via Paypal. I will absorb Paypal fees.
