RCD510 + RCV questions

I just bought a ’12 GTI and had to buy a rear view camera.
I bought a 2014 RCD 510 and an OEM rvc.

Is it possible to get rid of the right side bar on the screen?? coding? software?
etc etc...

The bar is where the parking sensor display would normally be, I think it’s selectable with VCDS.

I have a RNS510 with parking sensors but I don’t have a camera fitted, I’ll plug VCDS in now and see if I can find an obvious option, does the back button at the top of the bar remove it? I take it you don’t have parking sensors?

The back button removes everything. Even the rear view.
Nope I don't have any sensors. Don't really care for them at the moment.

Nvm. I actually found a full thread on this. No can do unless we get an rcd510 from China.
Time to look for a cheap rns510. Ebay hunting.

Controller 10 Park/steer assist -> coding 07 -> byte 0 -> de select bit 4 , this is how it is in my 2010 gti with RNS510 at least!

Or there’s an option in adaptation but I can only turn the optical illustration off or on as I don’t have a camera.



Also in 56 radio -> 07 coding -> byte 0 -> try checking bit 3 if it’s not currently selected.

Mine is a bit different since I got the obdeleven.
I don't have the park assist installed. It's all showing inactive.
The graphics one you showing me, I found. But no info.
I can change the car type and it will change the settings.
Channels = different cars.
I then have 5 or 6 options I can click on with no description.
Time to try them all as a last resort.

One of the tick boxes in the park/steer assist controller is titled, back up camera installed so I figured you would have that checked as you have the camera, I’m 99% sure you can remove that box, I had a different gti before my current one that had a factory camera and sensors, the sensors were faulty so I turned them off with VCDS and removed the box (or it did it itself) after turning them off, I don’t remember now.
