switch from 19" to 17"

Hi I drive the MK6 GTI
lowered on coilovers maybe about 1.5" drop all around.
Due to the road conditions, I want to change my wheels
cracked the wheels a few weeks ago.
I bought the car already lowered so I am not sure about
the exact drop " and the camber.

Right now I have:

19x8.5 +45 BLQ ROTIFORMS 215/35r19 and they are stretched.
With this setup, I am at the flush stance the wheels are tucked because of the stretch.


and would like to switch to 17" rims
17x8 et45
what would be the best tire size for this setup.

If you're on 17x8 ET45 and want even more cushion for your ride, I think you can go 235/45 later on. I'm on ET40 17x8 235/45 and after fender screw mod I just barely rub on the hardest dips. I'm on DG springs so not that low either. Huge difference compared to 225/40 18's.
