Some 15,000 and my Water Pump just gave out. :(

Could have been worse...
Took the family up to Marthas' Vinyard for a couple of days.
Came home passing through some very dicey 'hoods in the Bronx at about 12:30AM. :yikes:
Wouldn't want the car to be disabled there.
In any event, we used my wives Hyundai Tuscon for that trip.
Left the GTI home in the driveway, and discovered the leak this morning.

You only have 15k on an '11?

Yes.
I moved a year and a half ago, and live right near the train station now.
So the car only runs the kids to the bus stop on monday to friday now.
I'm putting nothing on the car now.
I'm going to make sure to make a couple of beach runs with it this summer.
Good one and a half hour drives south.

Jersey shore?

That'd be it, yes.
I became aware of Island Beach State Park over the winter.
We made one run down there a couple of weeks ago.
It's usually Point Pleasant for us.
Island Beach is really nice because it is a natural setting.

My parents live in Cape may and ocean city. Cape may is a really cool historic quiet getaway if you ever have the chance.

Sorry to hear about the water pump, BTW. I just hit 15k. I've always kept a close eye on the coolant level. So far, so good.

Yes, I've always thought about Cape May.
The one time I almost went (before I had kids) a friend of mine at work persuaded my wife and I to go to Newport RI.
Loved that one.
Probably get to Cape May one day.

Yeah, I've been looking out for it ever since I found out how common a problem it is.
I was really hoping that it would fail while it was still under warranty.
I've got to look on the bright side that it happened in my driveway.
I called AAA and had it towed to the repair shop I know and trust.
