Thanks guys! Installed an 02 spacer and followed the steps on the last page and it passed! Now the new owner can enjoy it :)

It should work fine without spacers as well, I probably do it 2-3 times a weeks. When you did the end of line test what number on the counter were you stopping at?

The shop that did it for me said it kept stopping at the oxygen sensor part. They couldn't get past it until they installed the spacer.

Anyone know if there have been any updates beyond the K04 v3.1 tune? I was on APR's site and saw the Stage 1 & 2 tunes had a new ECU tune available. Just curious.

The new Stage 1 and 2 tunes take some of what was developed for the K04 V3.1 (driveability, etc.) and applied it to the Stage 1 and 2 tunes, among several other things. Prior to 2.x, those tunes were like 7 years old and a lot had been learned.

they have a v3.2, but it's the same as v3.1 but with the addition of no lift shifting, brake boost / left foot braking, and launch control if you choose them

Hello all! I waited a long time for APR DQ500 tcu upgrade, but no good luck. It seems to be no APR firmware upgrade in nearest future. Good news for me that other tuning companies have DQ500 firmware upgrades, but I don`t know how it will work with APR K04 3.1 software. Which launch RPM is the best for launch on APR 3.1 with AWD? What ideal shift points for use in D, S, M modes?

I found this posts https://www.golfmk6.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2007840&postcount=3394 and https://www.golfmk6.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2006790#post2006790 but there were FWD cars with DQ250 and I have AWD with DQ500.

I made graphs for APR K04 3.1 and DQ500 in each gear revving to 7000 RPM:

My dyno:

WHP

Torque

Does it mean that ideal shift points are 7000rpm for 1th gear and 6750rpm for 2th and 6500 for others?

You are correct. I think APR posted somewhere that 1st gear is around 6750 rpm, and each subsequent gear is 250rpm less.

Edit: this was for the manual trans. Not sure how the DSG ratios differ.

May be APR is right. If we take a closer look to graphs we will see this points:

1st: 6800 RPM (58kph)
2nd: 6500 RPM (90kph)
3rd: 6200 RPM (130kph)
4th: 6000 RPM (175kph)
5th: 5800 RPM (220kph)
