MK6 Third/High Level Brake Light

Hello!!

Newbie here, hopefully looking for someone to shed "some light" on the high level brake light in the spoiler of my a Golf 1.6L

I've tracked down a spare part from the internet, but can't find an installation guide or anything to help replace without knackering the entire spoiler.

Lots of videos online for the GTI, but yet to find anything for the standard model.

Has anyone had a similar issue/experience of doing the same job!

Iirc the GTI 3rd brake light can be removed from the outside by pulling down a small tab located under the assembly towards the right. I think the other models have to be removed via screws that are covered by the interior hatch trim, though.

You should be able to see a DIY on removing that trim either by searching or looking at a DIY for rear wiper removal (also requires trim removal). I searched for ages in order to tint mine on a TDI, then ended up just leaving it when I saw what was involved.
