hub and bearing replacement 2013 GTI

Passed Driver's Ed
I had tire bubbles on front two tires (terrible potholes in michigan), replaced them (stock pirellis again, balanced and mounted them at SEARS auto parts store, $350 for tires and labor). Then I notice a humming sound in one of the front wheels (not sure which one). I was pretty sure that one of the front wheel bearings was damaged. I was approaching 9500 miles so I decided to schedule my first service as well.

I scheduled my service at Lafontaine VW in dearborn, MI. They took a whole day to diagnose the problem and said that my front right rim was bent at two places on the inner side (slight bend). So they said the warranty would not cover pothole damage. Their quote, straighten the rim from a third party $125, wheel hub and bearing replacement $570 (includes cost of part labor and tax). The service technician also said they had to press the bearing etc so the labor charge would be high. The part itself costs around $250 (check this http://parts.vw.com/parts/2013/Volk...cleid=391261&diagram=9281275&diagramCallOut=1).

I later realized that this part was a hub and bearing assembly, I don't understand the need of pressing the bearing against the hub.

Found this on 1Aauto.com

Should I buy this and replace it myself or should I go with what the dealership says? Also, should I straighten the rim or get a new one (just two slight bends on the inner edge).

Also, I am ready to buy one or a pair of lagunas if anyone is ready to sell them.
