I guess the best way to describe it would be 1/4 mile circle drag race
They have been doing this here for probably 30 years

I like starting from a standstill
Thats why a stagger is given for cars that are slower
Especially fun with V-8 drivers who come out the first time and think they are going to dominate
The start of the event is time trials to see who gets fastest lap
You get the whole track and 3 laps

Just get into the habit of 9-3/10-2 position. The first thing they taught us at an Acura HP Track-day school is the wrong position on the steering wheel can lead to broken arms really fast with airbag deployment. Having your hand too far up can lead to breaking your nose/face with your own broken arm from the airbag deployment.

The closest drag strip is about 45 minutes away
This is 15 minutes from my house
Easy way to get your speed fix in between autoX and track days
You wouldn't believe how many cars end up totaled in the wall
3 or 4 a year massive crashes
I remember years back when a guy DESTROYED his z28 camaro there
