Mobil1 0-40 since it's 502 and easy for me to find. Walmart carries it. I can't find Castrol stuff near me

The M1 or Castrol? They never have the Castrol that's VW approved at my Walmart.

There are plenty of Motul resellers in Montreal, and Canadian Tire sells GC.

I've used Royal Purple 5W-30, burnt nothing, used Castrol 5W-40, and AGIP 5W-40 and only burnt a little. When I track it I might get more specific.. but until then ANY one of the previously mentioned oils are fantastic.

I'm running LiquiMoly currently. In the past I used Pentosin in my GTI and will probably switch to that in the GLI with my next oil change.

I heard extra virgin oil helps the engine loosen up a bit after the break in period
