Yes you can use APR downpipe with stock catback exhaust with 3" to 2.5" reducer (https://store.goapr.com/products/APR-Exhaust-Reducer-%2d-76mm-to-60mm-%2d-1.8T.html).

My APR downpipe is mated with 3" to 2.5" reducer, with stock VW exhaust clamp (Part Number 1K0253141P), no leaks.

Thanks indicted. Does it connect before the oem cat then? Sorry a bit of a newbie. How do people get away with running cat less?

Also the apr downpipe kit comes with another section. Would I need to buy that piece separately to mate it with my stock exhaust or would I just be cutting my stock exhaust in a different spot?

if it includes midpipe, then yes. Mine has 200 cell cat on midpipe, with O2 sensor spacer to prevent CEL

To answer questions:

Yes the APR downpipe will fit to stock catback, however this is just the downpipe section for the turbo. You so need to source/fab a midpipe (which is cheap and easy!)
