2.0TSI oil pressure issue

It has been a bad year for my engine and things are getting worse. Ever since the situation with the failing variable intake timing:
http://www.golfmk6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63066
I have had a tapping sound coming from the engine at around 1300RPM. I changed oil and the filter, but that didn't fix it. So I decided to get an oil pressure gauge.

This was a month ago, before I was going to attend a time attack event and go on a 2000 mile road trip so I wanted to see where the engine stands. Here's a link to my in-class 3rd place finish, btw: http://youtu.be/w8h4Nvpu93I. Of course the oil pressure sender unit I received was defective, but I risked it and went into the two activities "blind".

Today I installed the replacement sender unit and very disappointingly my engine's pressure reads a little less than 15psi at idle at operating temperature. And I suspect it would read a lot less if I really got the engine hot. This is outside of VW's idle range specification of 17.4psi - 30.5psi.

So much for the dummy low pressure switch which is rated between 17.4psi - 23.2psi.

I wanted to know if others have measured their oil pressures so that I can compare and if anyone had advice on what to do next. For one I'm going change my oil and send it off to be analyzed. That should tell me if there is excessive wear.

I had an oil issue with my car after having it flashed for my k04. Turned out my head gasket was leaking from the timing chain area into cylinder #1. I was getting the oil pressure warning light only when the engine was decelerating. When it was in vac. I was reading 10-15 psi at hot idle, well below the indicated specs. However, at 2000 rpm, I was well within the specs required.

What was your pressure on decel? What are you reading now that it is fixed?

Make sure the valve under the oil filter is still in there they've been know to pop out when the filter is removed...

Close to 5. The graduation of the gauge is such that it is not evenly spaced throughout, and below 30 is where the spacing becomes smaller. I would say that I had roughly 10-15 at hot idle, but sometimes lower. Closer to 5psi.

Fixed? The engine is in pieces. But teardown did yield the answers. And the problem happened when I was not in the car, nor driving it. Just after getting reflashed k04. So I couldn't rule anything out.
