Knives have been proven to be way more effective in close quarters encounters time and time again. They both serve their purpose.

If you carry a gun but not a knife, you're doing it wrong...
Knives aren't necessarily for self defense. You'd use a knife WAY more often than a gun in your daily life.
Can you defend yourself with a knife? Of course. That takes some real balls doe. If you want a self defense knife, check out the Fox 599 or 579(?). You'll have no problems deploying that knife in time and karambits are absolutely devastating when used correctly.

Wow, that could have been much worse though. I’m sure his hand hurt afterward, but at least nothing got sucked into the dyno drum.
My grandpa once backed a tractor over my foot while backing into a barn to hook up something. I was lucky it wasn’t the raised tread that went over my foot.
In other news, my old POS compressor went kaboom and I bought a new 29 Gal two stage from HF for $350. I am happy with my new little R2D2 looking compressor and I have air again!
I know I couldn't. That's why I said under 10 feet you can't beat them (knives)
