Audi crash support beams?

Hey I'm putting all the parts together to do aluminum subframe (Beetle only comes with steel), SuperPro lca, and Passat hubs along with some other stuff.

While I'm at it and have the car apart, does anyone know if the Audi aluminum crash supports will work in the VW models? Like from an A3

They don't look far off from each other in the pics I've been able to find and have read online somewhere that someone had done a swap. Can't remember if it was front or rear or both though and can't find that info anymore.

If the weight savings was enough and it'll fit ,I'd score a used one online.

Front bumper will be off anyways as a new bumper skin and intercooler will be installed with the other stuff

Tips for the subframe

Get the Passat B6 subframe, the GTI subframe won't fit.
Your camber will be positive so get camber plates.
Your track width will be smaller and might need spacers to clear the strut

I knew about the Passat B6 subframe and camber plates but wasn't aware of the strut clearance issue!
