Actually it was more like "Let's do a justice of the peace kinda thing. I want to use some of that money to do stuff to the GTI."

Not bad at all, it comes down to preference.

Personally Id love to have my wedding (If I ever settle for just one girl) on the down low and get married with just a few close friends/family.

More funds for the car = damn good thing.
