how quick does the hatch raise after releasing? whats the strength of the gas struts?

so with the MK6, theres no coding involve after installed. only MK5 require coding, correct?

As long as you have the hatch unlock on your key fob (which pops the hatch) there is no coding required whatsoever. This is purely a mechanical mod that increases the force to completely open the hatch other than just pop it open.
