Cast vs. Stainless APR Downpipe

Hey guys, I am looking to purchase a downpipe for my golf R and I can get good deals on the older Stainless APR Downpipe. I just wanted some reviews of that vs the new Cast Iron version of it. is it worth it to spend more and get the new version, or is the old stainless sufficient if I am getting a great deal. Thanks! .:R

The new one is cast stainless steel, not iron.

The old version was made by Corsa, who still sells them under their own brand.

They're made of comparable alloys, so I doubt one is really any better than the other. Get whichever one is cheaper.

I've seen multiple instances of the old version cracking around the turbo flange (including mine) but for the price different I would still just go with the old one and keep an eye on it. If you're buying a used one, be sure to get a good picture of the weld surrounding the turbo flange on the inside to make sure it's not cracked through.
