Did you experience any throttle lag issues when downshifting/rev-matching? That was my biggest issue by far. If so, were these issues fixed with v2.4?
I feel like I might have had the throttle lag issue, but a minor one. It's hard to say. I think that issue was contributed by the dead spot that used to be at the beginning of the throttle, so it was the same thing that was causing my jerky first gears.
It does seem like I'm rev-matching easier/smoother. I've noticed downshifting definitely feels smoother for me.
I actually feel like I have to relearn how to drive my car kind of now lol
I've been dealing with the RPMs jumping up to 1200~ every time I just barely tapped the gas for so long now that I got used to it. I've learned how to live with it in traffic and through parking lots by figuring out the best way to tap the gas and feather the clutch, and sometimes just keeping it out of gear and coasting. It's been a lot more work than it should be and gave it that race car feel.
Now I go to tap the gas and I expect it to behave the way it has been since I got 2.0, but it doesn't. It's kind of a mind fuck. Just idling through a parking lot and then starting to push the accelerator down is trippy. I begin easing into the pedal expecting my car to take off and instead it just begins to smoothly accelerate. I've gotten so used to expecting my car to just take off when I do that. I need more time behind the wheel to get used to this.
I haven't gotten on it hard too much still, but the car is driving great again. My throttle behaves the way it should. The power in 5th and 6th feels a lot better than it used to. I haven't really seen that surge issue I used to get sometimes when I initially hit the gas after shifting into 4th.
I even feel like there's something about the power delivery in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd that feels different, in a good way.
I still think I need another week or so of driving around town to get a better feel for things, but so far I haven't been able to find anything to complain about.
