Castrol Edge 5W-40

Just changed the oil to Castrol Edge 5W-40, from what I can see the oil temperature is less that what it was with the original oil it came with.

Normally I will run at about 102-104 degrees C, with the castrol Edge im running at about 99-101 degrees C.

Anyone using Castrol Edge?

Yip, been running that since I changed my oil at 7500km's. I also noticed a slight drop in temp.

You guys have a oil temp gauge in your cars?

i use some Castrol 5w-40 synthetic which is what my VW dealer sells also. No idea if its the "edge" brand tho. Just changed it last week.

EDGE 5w40 is not available in North America. Dealer is definitely using Castrol Syntec.

Euro GTI's can display oil temp on the MFD.

but i heard that Castrol "Edge" has now replaced "Syntec" in USA also. I'll find out when I go to the store in a day or two.

It was all syntec..5w20, 40, etc. they switched to edge except 5w40 which stayed syntec. Now as of very recent its catrol edge 5w40 with spt technology.
