Need Help Real Quick

Could someone take a look at my attached photo and reference it to their R? I'm trying to determine if this piece of the center stack is tucked inside or sitting outside of the upper trim.

Which one is on the outside? Lower (#1) or upper (#2) piece?

#1 goes on the outside just like in the pic

Cool, thanks. Needed to make sure as I find a couple of broken pieces on two pieces of the center stack that the dealership did. I just found them while I was removing the panels so that I could route this Escort direct wire switch. They must have broken them when they fixed my glove box. Sucks that while fixing one thing, they broke two more. My car has been in out of the dealership for warranty work like 4 times and I've had it less than 2 months!
