Melted OEM Intake

Was washing the car today and noticed that the pipe leading into the filter housing was deformed/melted. Never noticed the deformity until now and wondering if that's how the pipe is supposed to look.

I have the "extended" warranty on the car until about 87K, is this something that would be covered? Taking a few hundred mile road trip tomorrow to California otherwise I'd have the stealership check it.

Any help is appreciated!

Bottom where fingers are is sucked in quite a bit.

Just another reason the OEM intake sucks... literally, lol.

Most owners just swap out the OEM intake anyway, so none of us really bring up this issue. You think that's bad for flow? Wait till you dig further back and find the charge piping.

Pancake pipe lol

Still not as bad as the 2.5's intake, though!
