To find your local atmospheric pressure, simply log your boost with the key on/Engine OFF. Subtract that value from your full-throttle boost readings and you will get your gauge pressure in millibar.

Multiply your gauge pressure in millibar by 0.0145 to get your gauge pressure in PSI.

Example:

boost reading with key on/engine OFF = 830mb (roughly 5-6000 feet elevation)

peak absolute boost reading = 2870mb

(absolute boost - atmposheric pressure)* 0.0145=

(2870mb - 830mb) * 0.0145 = 29.58 PSIg

Now lets see what the same absolute pressure would read on a boost gauge at sea level...

boost reading with key on/engine OFF = 1013 mb (average sea level reading)

(2870mb - 1013mb) * 0.0145 = 26.92 PSIg

I prefer to use the actual sensor on the vehicle as its directly correlates with the data you will be comparing. As long as its not elevation corrected any local weather data is fine. I know a lot of altimeter readings I have seen at airport data websites are elevation corrected.

What sparkplugs is everybody using?

What do you gap them to?

How do you gap them?

Where's the rest of the sparkplug located?

What boost do you spike to?

What boost do you hold?

How do I check for boost leaks?

Why can't I use a bicycle pump?

How much CF do you have?

How do I fix the CF?

Why are GLI's so much better?

Why are my dyno numbers low?

Why do I haul ass at 4500RPM but not 2500RPM?

What do I log for valve float?

What intercooler should I use?

To sum it up, whoever answers these all gets $5 PayPal
