No way dude. MSRP is not a deal. Second of all whats going on with those DMV fees? 800 something dollars for License and Title???? My DMV fees in NYC were 200 bucks. Maybe AZ is different, but I feel like youre being screwed there.

NEVER EVER pay MSRP.

zag.com is your best friend

oh and email negotiation! the moment you deal with a salesman on the dealer, you're screwed, they have way more experience than u at that and will want to penetrate you at every cost

Yeah something fishy is going on there

You should be able to get invoice or close to invoice pricing easily. Deal with someone in internet sales (they're not commission based like a regular salesman)

What is Nitro for $29?

Tint for $299?
Mine was supposed to be $229 (out the door here in Michigan) for evey window except the windshield but the guy lightly scratched one window & only charged me $130 for Llumar tint

And the title/plates seem crazy expensive too like everyone else said

So the rep is claiming they're only making $500 on this vehicle, at that price. How would you go about getting the price down to what's listed on one of the zag.com sites?

Does this look right, $4 for the title?

$25 for the plate?

Would you guys suggest getting tint with the dealership or a third party? Also wondering if I don't get nitrogen in the tires with them, is it a difficult process to get nitrogen in the tires elsewhere?

Sounds like BS to me. The 2011 models are about to come out and they should be coming more of the price. Search the truecar value and see what you really should be looking at.

So I tried giving them the information from zag.com and asked why they were including the Destination Charge in the total. This is what they had to say:

I am unaware of where Zag.com gets their numbers. They do not seem to sell cars on their website They may be a real company but we cannot sell the car for the number that they seem to be making up. The destination charge if from Vw it will show up on every vehicle invoice no matter what brand or model vehicle you are buying. This charge covers the manufacturers cost of transport to the dealer.

What would you do with that? They're claiming they're the lowest price and that they don't negotiate

Configure the car you want and you will get a list of at least a few dealerships that "guarantee" you a certain price. Either wait for one of the dealerships to contact you (happens within minutes), or take the print-out to the dealership, and mention that if they don't honor the price, so-and-so dealership WILL. I did get one internet sales specialist that was trying to bait-and-switch me for weeks even after I ordered the car through another, but overall you have good chances of getting the car you want for the price you want. Or, just visit one of the listed dealerships and work with them

Worst case they say no again.. then you tell them to get bent and walk

Destination is included in the zag.com prices. Otherwise you're unlikely to negotiate it off the price as it IS built-in and is one of the fees that you can't negotiate (easily).

Do NOT pay $29 for nitrogen-filled tires.

The benefits have never been proven and regular atmospheric air is almost 80% nitrogen to begin with....

The only thing this helps with are extreme temperature changes so unless your going to go from -40 to 100f+ in a really short amount of time you dont need to fill the tires up with nitrogen.
