CLUTCH HELP! TRANS WONT COME OUT

I tried replacing the clutch on my 2012 GTI ans I was able to unbolt the trans from the engine but when i tried to remove the trans it would hit the right side of my engine bay before it would clear the flywheel and clutch. Is there any tips or tricks for doing this at home? surely someone has done it themselves as well, all help is grately appreciated thanks!

you’ll have to tilt the transmission at an angle and it’ll come out. Thats how I did it. Never again. lol

Links posted above are good. Check the link in my signature for info and other good links/pics. If you are not dropping the subframe then you have to remove the axle flanges to squeeze the trans out between subframe and frame rails.

Not sure how you have the engine supported (jack underneath, or engine support bar up top) but you can drop it down a bit to get yourself more clearance. Just be aware that you're putting stress on the engine mount so don't drop the engine too far.
