Has anybody else seen this? Apparently, anybody involved in the class action lawsuit to receive compensation for their motors blowing (due to the tensioner) will receive compensation for the costs. Does that mean those of us whose timing chain tensioners haven't blown (yet) will be covered under this in some way? I'm wondering if there is a recall soon to come to revise every GTI with the old part. I'm unlucky and was built in Feb. of 2012 and I have the old part.

Very interesting!

Still, I would be very surprised if VW did anything about this for those not involved with the lawsuit (like issuing a TSB). That would be sweet though!

Having just past 85k on my 2010, this very thing has been on my mind.

"Additionally, Volkswagen has agreed to extend warranties on the timing chains in affected vehicles to cover the timing chains for 10,000 miles or for 10 years."

I'm guessing they meant 100,000 miles.
