New RCD330 Plus Headunit with Mirrorlink/Carplay

The usb port definitely charges faster than my cigarette lighter charger which is suppose to be 2.0 amps but i feel like it wasn't that fast.

I would say the rcd330 usb port is at least 1.5-2amps

Finally got around to buying this. Installed today in my 2012 GTI autobahn with dynaudio

Install was super easy and took all of 10 mins

Unexpectedly, the unit worked straight away without needing to unplug the battery

Has anyone with dynaudio experienced this as a well?

I might just unplug the battery for good measure but wanted to check first what the actual issue was with rcd330 and dynaudio

Sorry if this was previously answered in here but I have a question.

I'm waiting on mine to arrive, and I see a lot of people talking about unplugging the OEM Bluetooth Module since the 330 has it built in.

Where is the factory Bluetooth Module that needs to be unplugged?

I'm still not clear why anything needs to be unplugged. I simply removed the old BT device from my phone and only paired with the new one. I haven't experienced any interference issues at all

Question for anyone that installed a backup camera on this unit:

I ordered an OEM replica pop-up camera from aliexpress. The RCA cable that plugs in behind the head unit has a short red wire coming out of it. The broken english install guide says that it connects to the HU reverse signal cable. However, there is already a different cable that I connected to the reverse light power cable which I assume signals the camera to turn on. So what would I connect this red wire to?

edit: from what I've been able to find out, it seems like it won't be needed. I think it's used to trigger an aftermarket HU to switch to the reverse camera view. Ours do this automatically as long as it's enabled with vagcom.

i did this for a coworker the other day. had to do the reset on the radio though: hold the volume knob/button down for 10 seconds.

Just got my RCD330+ 187B delivered from AliExpress (link below) and installed it at lunch. Ordered on 7/3, so arrived quick and was packaged incredibly well. Install only took 20 minutes and couldn't have been any easier in my '13 GTI Autobahn w/ Dynaudio - truly plug-and-play and didn't require unplugging the battery. Seriously cannot believe how awesome of an upgrade and deal this was ($226 shipped)!

For the person inquiring about amperage output from the USB port, I’ve included an image below. It fluctuated quite a bit with my phone at 70% and playing Spotify, but seemed to draw about ~1.4-1.5A fairly consistently.

Just scanned my car ('13 Autobahn) after installing the RCD330+ head unit and a bunch of error codes popped up (some to be expected). Anyone do VCDS coding after installing to clear the errors? Looking for some guidance/tips.

dang, mine came in 3 days. i was sorta surprised how quickly it came from China. do you have the tracking #?

Ok, after some dinner, a little common sense, and some searching... I was able to clear all of the errors. The obvious was to uninstall 2E and 37 from 19-CAN Gateway > Installation List, since the MDI and Nav are no longer part of the HU in the RCD330+, and then clearing the 19-CAN errors. The 56-Radio errors were cleared and didn't reappear after two subsequent scans, so I'll just keep an eye on those.

No more errors

Finally got my OEM-replica backup camera installed and working. If anyone needs help installing one, feel free to send me a PM.

Did you scan on hunch/curiosity or were there Malfunction Indicators displaying on the Dash/Radio/MFI?
