APR stage 2 ECU shot

Hey what's going everyone. My car has been in the dealership since the 25 of February. How long does it take for a new ECU to come in and has anyone else running APR on their mk6 have this issue happen to them?

well what exactly happened besides ECU failure? How did it happen? What were your symptoms?

I was driving my car and all of a sudden the C.E.L and EPC popped on the dash followed by a "Service engine now!" over my speedometer. Then my car just turned off. So I took the key out and let it sit for about five minutes then cranked it back up. I got approx five blocks and it did it to me again. I even put it back to the stock map and it was no help.

APR, don't you guys send a replacement ECU when this happens on your programming?

The service manager said "The ECU grounded out due to the protective tape not bring reapplied on computer after programming."

I am driving at the OP for some more answers to demonstrate this is not a failure due to APR, but rather some other factor like an improperly resealed ecu by the installer.

Ok bingo - you have a cause and effect. Who did your tune? Did you call them?

I watched the install of the programming of my ECU I never saw any protective tape in the first place. So I guess VW missed it on my vehicle.

They probably mean the silicone bead cut when the ECU was opened.

I got it done at "Drive Auto Works" yes I called them and they are taking care of it. I was just curios if anyone else has experienced this and how long a new ECU takes to arrive.

It has happened - it should have been ordered overnight - I would call the dealer and ask why it was not.
