Aftermarket armrest experiences?

Hey guys,
Ever since I got my Golf, I've been bothered by the fact that I have no armrest. Has anyone installed any of the aftermarket ones available? If so, how do you like it? I'd love to get one from VWOA but hoping not to spend ~$300.

try searching craigslist for a totaled gti and maybe they'll sell you the armrest assembly. Nothing looks better then the oem, IMO

I'm a newbie and did the Craigs List search and found a wrecking yard that had one from a similar year GTI. Make sure you get the VIN number of the GTI and then check with the dealer who will look up yours and let you know if it fits. In this case it would not so I didn't bother buying the arm rest. Hope that helps.

Thanks guys. Was hoping to hear about any experiences with the aftermarket stuff, but ended up just snagging a genuine junked piece to swap it out with--way less expensive and more available now than they were a few years ago!
