limp mode?

Ok I have a bolt on 12 R stock tune with a apr hpfp. I've noticed sometimes going WOT the car only builds 6psi I back out of it and like clock work my next WOT pull is back to normal. Am i hitting some kind of soft limp mode? I currently do not have a vcds cable so I do not know if there is any soft codes.

My GTI went into limp mode last year and would not even engage the turbo.

It turned out that my fuel pump had gone bad. Take your car to an independent and have it looked at.
