Do we have the Old or New Tensioner?

I am posting on this site as our Tiguan has the same 2.0L as our previous 2011 GTI.

The CPO warranty on our 2013 Tiguan expires October 31, 2018. I am concerned whether our 2013 has the new tension or the old. I believe the build date was end of 2012.

Does anyone have a shop they can recommend in the GTA that has experience determining which tensioner we have? If it is the old tensioner, we will need to assess whether to have it changed and keep the vehicle, or purchase something else. Thanks

If you're handy you can probably inspect it yourself. There is an inspection port on the 2.0 TSI and photos of the tensioner. Assuming the tiggy used the same timing chain cover. There are a few YouTube videos on the topic and even show the difference between old and new.

Are you east GTA or west?
East I can think of k&h radiator, almost racing and 360 auto that you may be able to book a time in with to have it checked out.
