Opinions needed!!! et35 or et45?
I am absolutely torn right now... This past week I ordered the HPA SHS Coilover Kit for my Golf R and Im now looking into wheel options. Right when I think Im just about sold on VMR V705 in 18x8.5 et45 (which will be released within the next two weeks); I found myself looking at TRMotorsport MT1's in 18x8.5 et35. I have scoured the forums and google finding 18x8.5 et35 mk6's and they seem to look great with this offset.
Im looking for your honest opinions on these choices paired with my HPA SHS Coils: VMR V705 18x8.5 et45 w/stock Pirelli 225/40???? or TRMotorsport MT1 18x8.5 et35 w/Conti DW 215/40??? Here is some pictures of others with et35 offsets: 19x8.5 et35 225/35 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 18x8.5 et35 215/40 ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Pretty easy decision here...
Do you want the wheels to poke and run some stretch? If so, 8.5 +35 with a 215/40. If not, 8.5 +45 and 225/40. +35 may require a light fender roll in the front and fender screw mod. Nothing major.

get +35 but you have to be 5 times more careful.. you need to do fender screw mod which is no big deal, takes 3 minutes..
I love my offset. I run 215/40 on 8.5 et 35 18 here are couple pics so you get a better idea. It makes the car look much more aggressive! 45+ is my friends wheels. 5x 112 -18x8.5 et35 w/Conti DW 215/40 and get the TRs. make sure you look at new bolts etc before you get the wheels. You won't be able to use the oem ones. show off your brakes ![]() ![]() |

id say et35.
215/40 in front 225/40 in rear if you rub a lil bit in the rear with 225 you can add a tad bit of camber and tuck em no problem. |
