Do I need new engine mounts?

2012 GTI DSG, Stock, w 80k miles. When I am stopped at a light, I feel vibration in the seat. The wheel does not shudder, and I don't hear anything unusual. I can't tell whether my engine mounts are worn, or this is just the way the car behaves because it's a relatively powerful engine for a small, light car. The vibration goes away if I shift into N or D, and I don't feel anything unusual when I'm driving.

Do I need to start thinking about replacing the engine mounts? Would new mounts do anything beyond offering some minor improvement in comfort by eliminating the vibration while the car is stopped?
