Yeah we get jibbed on some cool features here in the US. It's kinda cool checking out the VW website in the UK to get an idea of what they offer.

Cool? You mean depressing. LOL I'm thinking of trying to move to the UK just for the car selection....LOL

Was on the Audi UK site last week, looking at the RS3 that we can't buy here.

And was impressed with the A1. Numerous trim lines, all affordable, with a diesel option that gets 74 MPG COMBINED. It's a cool looking car (like a smaller A3 obviously), has Audi styling and features, and starts at around 14k pounds, going up into low 20k pounds for a fully optioned one. So, that's cheaper than a Prius, better made than a Prius, and loads more mileage than a Prius. Kicks a Civic Hybrid's butt too, easily. Yet, survey's show we're too dumb over here to embrace diesel technology because the average consumer thinks the new "cool" hybrid garbage is 'better'.

The A1 is sweet! Many more car choices in Europe period. How about this little bad boy.

The diesel cars in Europe are awesome and fast. They also have much better diesel and regular fuel for that matter. Everytime I'm over in Europe I try renting different diesel cars, amazing. I hate the hybrid hype !

Just tried to build a GTI with everything. Total is £36,293.00 (~$56,297.70), and I imagine that doesn't include VAT. Yeah...

:lol:I know, I suppose we shouldn't be complaining since we're getting the better deal in the USA. :w00t:

I couldn't live in Europe with all the insane taxes and shit. I'd love to visit parts of it for the old, gothic architecture which I've always loved, but you can keep all the taxes, although with socialists like Obama, Romney, Bush(es), etc. we're headed that way fast.

But, yes, if I were to go there for an extended period of time, I'd revel in the insane amount of ultra-awesome cars. That is, once I stopped jizzing myself for the same reason. ;)

Can't let that comment pass. Your Democrats are like our Conservatives. Only nut bars would even listen to a Republican.
Obama is a pretty conservative politician. You don't know anything about politics if you think he's a socialist.

Now, back to cars....

Thank you...someone else with some form of knowledge beyond what people in this country seem to think a socialist is. Obama is far from it...our most liberal politicians are barely scratching the surface of true liberal socialism. Bernie Sanders, Alan Greyson, Dennis Kusinich, etc...they are about as liberal as they come in the US political machine. They are hardly socialists, though...just more liberal than the rest of the center-right democrats. "Socialist" in this country is nothing but a dirty word used by the propaganda machine to scare uneducated buffoons.

Couldn't have said it better. I wish we could have a true liberal option but Libertarianism seems to be the new popular thing instead. It's amazing how well politics and media play hand in hand in distorting reality and the truth.

What's really funny is that the countries that top the standard of living, happiness indexes and other life quality rankings are consistently those that lean toward social democracy models. Look at Norway, Sweden, etc... These countries utilize a socialist leaning model and their citizens live happy, productive lives free from all the bullshit we inflict upon ourselves in "the greatest nation on earth". What a self-serving load of shit.

I wonder what would be involved in adding this system on a US spec car. I probably don't want to know, I imagine.

It has sensors in the interior light module in the headlining. This is not something you would want to retrofit, it seems like a PITA.
